About Stephane

Born in Saintes, France, I attended school and then fine arts school.

I moved to Australia in 1983 where I worked as a photographer and lab assistant in Cairns, before settling in Sydney.

 

1986-1988 Island Photographer, Hayman Island.

1988-1994 Self-employed: Co-owner of Photographic businesses in Armidale, U.N.E. Armidale, Southern Cross University, Lismore.

1992-1997 Back to full-time photographer, Formula 1 Sports photographer, worldwide.

1997-2005 Freelance Photographer, Sydney NSW, consultant for digital imaging

2005-2007 Photographer for Getty Images.

Art, Entertainment, celebrities

I have continuously worked as a freelance photographer around the world for various international events including the Formula 1 Grand Prix, Tennis Championships, World Cup Rugby, etc. My images appeared in numerous publications throughout Europe and Australia.

 

Cars and wine have always been passions of mine.

I have had the priveledge to enjoy both of these passions through my photography.

I have had the fortune to meet fellow frenchman “The Professor” Alain Prost, his all time rival the Great Ayrton Senna, “the Lion” Nigel Mansell and of course “the Red Baron” Michael Schumacher.

 

Through my life I have photographed  many aspects of photography.

From aerial photography and landscapes, still, sport, commercial, architectural, fashion, portrait, school & graduation photography and weddings.

 

Being the proud father of two beautiful children and already owning a house in Armidale, in January of this year my wife, the children and I  moved back to the New England to take advantage of all the benefits country life has to offer. We are currently living in Uralla.

 

I still contribute to magazines and agencies, as well as photographing for editorials, school photography, portraiture and weddings.

  • Award winning Formula 1 Photographer 1995 & 1996
  • Australia Day Council Ambassadors Photographic Exhibition. Included personalities such as: Margaret Whitlam, Peter Garrett, Suzie Maroney and Sir Jack Brabham.
